Fishing Reports

November 29, 2009.   What a beautiful day in the bay!  Chip and Drew were aboard for a light tackle trip today in 70 degree weather.  Schoolies were bunched up and we caught them on ultralight tackle and fly rods.  Kept a limit and released many more.
November 21, 2009.  It's been a while  due to weather.  Had a great trip today for Pete and Charley catching school stripers.  Fishing started out a bit slow, but things got cooking and we ended up with a limit of decent fish, and released quite a bit more.

June 28, 2009.  We had a party of three from Richmond for our first deep drop trip in a while.  We enjoyed great weather all day with lots of two-tone dolphins and yellowfin tuna swimming around the boat.  We came home with a limit of wreckfish, two golden tilefish, two barrel fish, a dozen black bellied rosefish and a handful of black sea bass.  I’ll post pictures when I get them.

June 20, 2009.  Finally out after a long run of nasty weather.  We fished two half day charters today.  The Robinsons fished in the morning.  We started with several Spanish Mackerel and then tried looking for some flounder.  We caught a few undersized flounder.  It was a beautiful morning, but water clarity was still off due to the recent rains.

We went back out late afternoon for an evening red drum trip.  The wind had kicked up, and we thought about cancelling but our charter wanted to go.  I knew would be safe, but thought we may have a wet ride across the bay.  Conditions on the bay were much better than we expected, and we had a great trip.  We caught several sharks up to five feet long and ended up with one 38 inch drum.  Our party couldn’t be happier.

All in all, two good trips.

March 22 2009:   Finally got out after a long, cold, windy spell.  Left the dock with five anglers on board and headed to the wrecks.   It was a chilly but beautiful day, with not a cloud in the sky.   We picked through a lot of spiny dogfish, but ended up with a nice haul of large seabass and four blueline tilefish.  We had a nice showing of humpback whales and common dolphin for much of the day as well.

January 4 2009:  Great weather forecast for a deep drop trip.  Great day with a 54 pound snowy grouper, four golden tilefish, three wreckfish several bluefish, blueline tilefish up to 18 pounds, and a couple of dozen sea bass including one at five-and-a-half pounds.

January 3, 2009:  Haven’t fished in a while due to weather and a trip to visit family.  Things have slowed down a bit, but we did manage one 44 inch striper for a release citation on a half day trip.

December 12 – December 14:  Fished the 5th annual Catchin’ For Kids tournament.  Crew consisted of Chip and Drew Camp, Chuck Harrison and Chuck Mathews.  Eleven year old Drew Camp won the junior division with a fish just over thirty pounds.  Way to go, Drew!.

December 6:  Evening trip for large stripers.   It was a beautiful evening with little wind.  Lots of boats on the grounds.   Our party took home a limit of fish from thirty-eight to forty-three inches. The largest fish weighed thirty six pounds.  Back at the dock at midnight.
